The Bartered Bride

by Bedřich Smetana

Jenik and Marenka are in love, but her parents don’t approve of the match. They each scheme to outwit their elders, especially the village marriage-broker, but almost double-cross each other! In addition to the virtuoso instrumental and vocal writing, frequent dances and a troupe of traveling circus performers make The Bartered Bride a buoyant comic masterpiece. Daniel Pelzig, former Resident Choreographer of the Boston Ballet, returns to bring this charming world of song and dance to life.

Sung in English translation with projected titles
