The Cutler Majestic Theatre [map]
All regular season Opera Boston performances are held at the Cutler Majestic Theatre, located in Boston’s historic Theatre District at 219 Tremont Street, halfway between the Wang Theatre and The Boston Common. It is convenient to the MBTA Orange (Chinatown) and Green (Boylston) "T" lines.
Driving
There is no stopping on the street immediately outside of the theatre. FROM THE NORTH VIA ROUTE 93: Take the Haymarket exit. Go through 1 traffic light. At the second light, turn LEFT onto Cambridge Street, which, after 2 blocks, changes into Tremont Street. Continue down Tremont, through many sets of traffic lights and pass the Boston Common on your right. At the end of the Common the cross street is Boylston Street. Continue straight and the Theatre will be on your RIGHT 1/2 block from Boylston Street. Look for the lit marquee.
FROM THE SOUTH VIA ROUTE 93: Take the Kneeland Street Exit. Go LEFT onto Stuart Street at the Chinatown Arch. Take a RIGHT on Charles Street, a RIGHT on Boylston Street and a RIGHT onto Tremont Street. The Theatre will be on your RIGHT 1/2 block from Boylston Street. Look for the lit marquee.
FROM THE MASS PIKE: Take the Copley Exit. Go LEFT onto Dartmouth Street. At Boylston Street, take a RIGHT and stay in the right lane. Pass through 5 traffic lights to Tremont Street. At Tremont, take a RIGHT. The Theatre will be on your RIGHT 1/2 block from Boylston Street. Look for the lit marquee.
Public Transportation
GREEN LINE: Get off at the Boylston Street (Theatre District) stop. When at street level, cross Boylston Street and walk straight ahead. The Theatre is 1/2 block downhill on Tremont Street. Look for the lit marquee.
ORANGE LINE: Get off at the Essex (Chinatown) stop. When at street level, the main street in front of you will be Washington Street. Cross the street so the "China Trade Center" is on your LEFT, and walk toward Boylston Street. At the cross street of Boylston and Tremont, take a LEFT. Continue down Tremont Street 1/2 block, and the Theatre will be on your right. Look for the lit marquee.
Parking
The Cutler Majestic Theatre provides $5.00 parking for the InterPark Garage at 40 Beach Street after 5pm. Bring your parking ticket to the theatre and an usher will validate it at intermission or immediately after the show.
